Working with LinkedIn

A social networking website where you can manage your professional life, this is LinkedIn. LinkedIn is like a summary of your working life for potential employers. It is a website where you can find job opportunities and do research on the companies that you are interested in. Alternatively, employers can also list jobs to find potential candidates.

LinkedIn can also be used to stay in touch with your colleagues and friends. And you can easily connect with them using the email account you have given if they are already in your contacts.

You can even post questions for the LinkedIn community!

Users can also use it to read up on tips from the world's top INfluencers on business related matters as well on news in the business world.

LinkedIn however, isn't all good. 

Downsides of LinkedIn :

• Difficult to use for someone who isn't good at networking
• Takes time and effort to create and maintain a profile
• Many users use it as a place for advertising which could lead to spam

All in all, LinkedIn is a place where you can keep a lookout for jobs and be updated on the business world however it requires commitment and effort to learn and to create create a decent profile.

Tweeting with Twitter

Today we'll be talking about Twitter. It is a free and simple website. It is generally used to share short messages with your friends not exceeding 140 words. Twitter also allows you to import contacts from other websites with ease as well as recommend you other popular users.

You are able to find out what are the current popular topics on twitter with a widget on the website. This has helped me a bunch of times as I'm personally not very up-to-date when it comes to things happening.

With twitter, you too can design your very own page by uploading your own photos and using them as backgrounds or use those provided.

You can follow and even interact with some famous people who use twitter!

Anyhow, twitter is not perfect.

Twitter servers are unreliable have been overloaded before.

140 words might not be enough for everyone and only one photo is allowed per tweet. Lastly, twitter is limited and there is not much to do.

In conclusion, Twitter is a website mainly for sharing short messages and finding out real-time happenings as to friends and celebrities. However, there is not much else to do and don't count on it being up during worldwide happenings.

Getting to know Facebook

Facebook. It is a website which is simple and easy to use.  It's a place where people can find their friends online and find out they have been up to. To help in doing that, it shows you people whom you might know using the information you have provided about yourself. Quite a useful addition to the site if you ask me! You can also join groups and find people with similar interest.

Users can post pictures, videos and updates to share with their friends and family of which you can also customise who you would like to be able to view the information.

People using Facebook may also choose from a variety of games to play, many i have found enjoyable.

Facebook Advertisements

Facebook does however have its cons.

It is filled with many advertisements which can affect the users' experience.

There is not much you can customise on your own page which leads to everyone having roughly the same overall page look.

If you are not careful, you could also fall victim to one of many scams.

Overall Facebook is an easy-to-use website to get in contact with your friends and pass the time, however it has its inconveniences and can have its dangers if you are not careful.
